In terms of its history, the Hughenden Bowls Club has been a part of the community for many years. The original Bowls facilities were established in the 1930s near the powerhouse, and the Club relocated to its current site in the 1960s when the Clubhouse was constructed. In the early 1990s, the Men's and Ladies Clubs merged, further strengthening the Club's sense of community and camaraderie. To adapt to changing circumstances, the original tift-dwarf green was replaced with a synthetic green in 2008, offering practicality and cost-efficiency.
The retractable shade structure was erected in 2013, enhancing the comfort of players and spectators alike.
In addition to its role as a recreational venue, the Hughenden Bowls Club also serves as a meeting place for various community organisations. The Hughenden Chamber of Commerce holds its monthly meetings at the Clubhouse on the first Monday of each month, while the Hughenden Show Society meets on an ad-hoc basis.
Becoming a member of the Hughenden Bowls Club not only grants access to a high-quality facility and friendly community but also supports the preservation and development of this beloved sport in the region.
