Hurst Badminton club

Hurst Badminton Club is a friendly and competitive badminton club located in Cambridge, New Zealand. With over 90 years of history, the club has established itself as one of the oldest and most successful in the area, attracting a diverse range of members.

The club currently has teams participating in the South Cambridgeshire and Newmarket leagues, and maintains strong ties with the County teams. This provides opportunities for players to compete at different levels and gain valuable experience.

Membership consists of approximately 35 adult members, ensuring a good mix of people and plenty of playing opportunities during club nights. In addition to adult sessions, Hurst Badminton Club also has an active Junior Club that runs sessions on Saturday afternoons, catering to young badminton enthusiasts.

Club nights for adults are held on Mondays and maintain a high standard of play, although they are not overly competitive. Additionally, matches are played on Friday evenings, further providing opportunities for players to test their skills in a competitive setting.

The club's facilities are located at Cambridge Regional College, situated on Kings Hedges Road in Cambridge. This venue hosts club nights on Mondays from 8-10pm, match nights from 8. 15-10. 15pm, and the Junior Club on Saturdays from 2-4pm.

It is worth noting that the club has recently made the decision to go cashless, and all guests wishing to play are required to use the club's contactless payment method (8. 00 per session). Membership registration is also available for both current and new members, ensuring that everyone can participate in the club's activities.

The Hurst Badminton Club Committee, comprised of various positions such as President, Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and more, is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the club. They also have a selection committee that handles team selection and assesses potential new club members.
