About
James, the organiser, invites you to explore the ICON Jiu-Jitsu Team in Watford. As a dedicated martial arts club, ICON specialises in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, offering a welcoming space for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. Students can choose to wear a traditional gi or opt for shorts and a t-shirt for the no-gi classes.
Since 2010, ICON Watford has been nurturing talent under the guidance of Professor Ze Marcello, a highly respected 6th Degree Black Belt. Alongside him, skilled Black Belt instructors and a variety of coloured belts create a supportive training environment. The club emphasises practical skills in balance, leverage, and timing, preparing students to face opponents of all sizes.
James wants you to know that sparring is a key element of the programme. Each session allows students to practise holds and submissions safely, making Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu an effective form of self-defence. Classes are available throughout the week, with gi sessions from Monday to Friday and no-gi sessions on Thursday and Sunday.
James is proud of the positive atmosphere at ICON Watford, highlighted by numerous testimonials from satisfied members. He encourages you to visit the academy, watch a session, and ask questions. Your first class is free, with gis available to borrow. James recommends getting your own gi once you decide to join the ICON Jiu-Jitsu family.
