About
Sarah, the organiser at Ignite Dance Company, has a little message for the sports community.
Ignite Dance Company, based in Prebbleton, is all about bringing dance to life for everyone, no matter your age. They offer Ballet and Jazz classes with a twist—think classic meets funky. If you're serious about performing, there's even a Performance Troupe you can join.
The Ballet classes there stick to the BBO and RAD syllabuses, but it's not just about technique; it’s also about enjoying the moment and expressing yourself. For the young ones, there are exams from 5 years old to help them set goals. And guess what? Every Ballet class gets a moment in the spotlight during the annual show.
Sarah's got Jazz covered too, following the NZAMD Syllabus. These classes venture into Hip Hop, Rock n Roll, and Lyrical, ensuring there's never a dull moment. Just like Ballet, there’s an option for exams and all Jazz classes star in the yearly showcase.
For the littlest dancers, Baby Ballet is the way to go. These sessions are packed with fun props and music to get those tiny feet tapping and imaginations soaring.
Privacy is key at Ignite Dance Co. While sharing snaps on social media is encouraged, Sarah asks everyone to respect the privacy of others. Feel free to tag Ignite Dance Co if you want to show off what your little dancer has been up to though—they love sharing the excitement on their Facebook page.
Fees vary by age and class numbers. Baby Ballet is $100 per term, with Ballet or Jazz classes ranging from $130 to $150 depending on age. If costumes and shoe hire are involved, there will be an extra fee for those in the Performance Troupe. Sibling discounts are also on offer. Sarah hands out invoices in the third week of each term, and payment plans are available if needed.
Sarah and the team at Ignite Dance Company focus on creating a fun, inclusive, and technique-focused dance environment. Whether you’re dreaming of being a ballerina or just want to jazz it up, Sarah and the crew at Ignite Dance Co. are excited to have you join their vibrant dance community.

Frequently Asked Questions
We find that dancers do best when parents are not watching during the lesson. Parents/caregivers can stay for the class, but once your dancer has adjusted it's great if you can drop and go.
To be part of our Performance troupe, your child must be in a ballet and a jazz class, be aged 8+, and be ready to work hard and enjoy performing.
You are welcome to post photos and videos, just please be respectful of other children and families and don't post photos or videos of other people's children. You can tag Ignite Dance Co in your posts so we can share and celebrate our dancers.
