Isis Canoe Club

Where new and existing members can come together to meet the coaches, ask questions, and socialise. Throughout the year, we organise barbecues, fancy dress paddles, informal trips to local pubs, and moonlit night paddles. These events give our members the opportunity to socialise, relax, and enjoy the company of fellow paddlers.

In addition to social events, we also offer various training opportunities for our members. We have a BCU paddlesport training programme throughout the summer, providing a structured curriculum for both beginners and experienced paddlers to develop their skills and progress in their paddling journey. We also have a team of volunteer coaches who offer support and guidance to our members, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to improve and grow in their paddling abilities.

Isis Canoe Club is not just limited to the waters of the River Thames in Oxford. We encourage our more enthusiastic members to challenge themselves on white water rivers or on the sea later in the year. We also organise trips to interesting locations around Oxford and beyond, allowing our members to explore new paddling spots and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Safety is a top priority at Isis Canoe Club. We provide our members with important safety information and guidelines to ensure that everyone can paddle in a safe and responsible manner. We also stay updated with river level information from the Environment Agency and display river flags at our club locations to indicate the current conditions.

As a club affiliated with British Canoeing and the Open Canoe Association, we adhere to the highest standards in paddling and prioritise the well-being of our members. We encourage a wide variety of activities, ranging from leisurely backwater trips to exhilarating white water adventures. Once qualified, our members are encouraged to organise their own trips using our busy forum, providing ample opportunities for paddling and adventure.
