Martial Arts you can study
Aikido: Our core art, aikido, offers the principles of peace and non resistance as a highly effective non lethal art for subduing an attacker with minimal harm. It is for this reason that it is popular with policing the world over. This is where many of our students start and we offer a two-lesson trial to get you started.
Traditional weapons: We offer instruction in the weapons of the samurai, including sword and staff. These arts teach confidence, body alignment and understanding of distance. Many consider these are a moving meditation in themselves.
Kids and teens programs: Kids lives today are more complicated than ever, yet the need to develop physical confidence, concentration and skills for a situation you would prefer never happen form the core of our kids programmes. Age appropriate for children and teens they undertake modified aikido as their bodies and minds mature.
Atemi jutsu (striking arts): Delving deep into the roots of aikido to combine modern combatives and the study of the Koryu (ancient arts) we offer atemi jutsu. This is a striking art far removed from point sparring and board breaking. It's a devastating form popular with the military for effectively resolving a situation where your life is threatened.
Self defence: Did you know in the majority of violent and sexual assaults the person assaulted knows their assailant? Our self defence programs take a step back from the punching bags and mugger-in-the-street type scenarios and looks first to develop practical awareness skills to avoid situations before they start, escape and evasion skills to get you our of trouble and then finally skills for when you or a loved one's life is at risk.
Low impact martial arts: Lima classes are for people who want to improve their physical capacity in a safe, supportive and structured environment.

We assess your current level of balance, stability and mobility and get you working on making improvements right away. We guide you to work at your own pace to build on your current capability, whatever that is. Just start from where you are.
