Itosu-Kai Karate-Do Australia is the only registered branch of Itosu-ryu Karate-do in Australia. Founded by Sensei Colin Leong in the 1980s, the club has a rich history and is dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional art of Itosu-ryu Karate-do.

At Itosu-Kai, we offer classes for both children and adults, catering to beginners as well as experienced practitioners. Our style of karate focuses on the mastery of kata (form), which forms the foundation of self-defence techniques and sparring. By training in kata, students develop confidence, self-esteem, coordination, and resilience. Itosu-Kai also incorporates modern sports karate, ensuring that our members have a well-rounded martial arts education.

Safety is our top priority, and all our classes are run with the utmost care and supervision. Our instructors are highly qualified and experienced, ensuring that every student receives proper guidance and support throughout their karate journey. We understand that starting something new can be intimidating, but rest assured that all our members and instructors have felt the same way at first. You will quickly settle in as you make friends with fellow students and begin learning the basics.
