Jacaranda Ballet

Jacaranda Ballet School is a renowned dance school located in Farnborough, New Zealand. Founded in 2009 by Andrea Young, the school is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for dancers of all ages and abilities. They offer a range of dance classes including Classical Ballet (Cecchetti Method), Tap, Street, and Jazz.

At Jacaranda Ballet, they believe in looking at the bigger picture of dance and exploring different ways of training dancers with good technique while also making the learning process fun. They welcome students of all ages and do not have an audition-based entry system. Every student is treated equally and given the opportunity to shine.

While they do not participate in competitions, Jacaranda Ballet School offers Ballet exams for those who wish to enter. They believe that dance is not just about hard work, but also about finding joy in learning and experiencing a sense of achievement. The school recognises that dance training involves the whole person, and aims to help dancers develop self-confidence, social skills, musicality, coordination, good posture, and stamina through regular exercise.

She started ballet at the tender age of 3 and went on to train at prestigious institutions such as Tring Park in Hertfordshire and the senior department of the Arts Educational School in London. Andrea has worked as a professional dancer in both the UK and Europe and has always had a passion for teaching.
