What swimming lessons do you offer?

We provide swimming lessons that reinforce previously learnt skills and progress depending on ability rather than age. Class sizes are typically small, with pre-schoolers in smaller groups.

Where and when do classes take place?

We run lessons at Balance Health Club on Thurston Drive in Kettering, plus other locations across Northamptonshire. Our lessons operate term time only.

Jenny | Swimming in Kettering

Jenny is a highly experienced swimming instructor based in Kettering, Northamptonshire. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she has taught in various swimming pools in the area including Rothwell, Market Harborough, Kettering, and Wellingborough.

Jenny's passion for swimming began when her own two daughters developed a love for the water. Her eldest daughter achieved an impressive feat of swimming a width of Kettering swimming pool (13m) without any aids at the age of 3. Her other daughter progressed to Stage 3 of the ASA National Teaching Plan at the same age. Inspired by her children's achievements, Jenny decided to become a swimming teacher and share her skills and knowledge with others.

Jenny takes pride in delivering personalised swimming lessons to cater to the specific needs of her students. Whether you're looking to learn how to swim or improve your stroke, Jenny's experience and expertise allow her to tailor each lesson accordingly. She incorporates techniques from the ASA, the STA, and Birthlight into her teaching methods, ensuring a well-rounded approach to swimming instruction.

To support her qualifications and expertise, Jenny holds several certifications. She is trained in ASA Teaching level 1 and 2, ASA Adult and Child Water Activities, Resuscitation for child and Baby, Birthlight Diploma Level 1, and the National Rescue Award. Additionally, she maintains an up-to-date DBS check and has public liability insurance.

Classes with Jenny are conducted at various locations across Northamptonshire. Students can choose from many options, including group classes, one-to-one tuition (currently not available), baby swimming classes, and pre-school classes. The group classes have an average class size of 6, ensuring individual attention for each student.

Baby swimming classes are designed for both parent and baby to be in the water together, eliminating the need for swimming aids. These classes focus on stimulating the baby's early reflexes in the water and building water confidence, with the ultimate goal of progressing to swimming unaided.

Pre-school classes are perfect for children who may be either nervous or overconfident in the water. The classes emphasise enjoyment through play and progressive techniques, accommodating each child's ability rather than age.

Jenny's Dolphins offers great value lessons, with prices starting from 8 per lesson. However, it's important to note that the course fee is paid in full during the first week of the course, and no refunds can be given for non-attendance.
