What karate classes do you offer?

We teach Wado Kai Karate, with beginner sessions for ages 5 to 12 and intermediate training for ages 10 to 18 and adults. We focus on both sporting and traditional Wado-Kai, tailored to different ages and experience levels.

Where and when do classes take place?

We teach Wado Kai Karate in Musselburgh, and we also run a weekly Friday night training session in Haddington from 7:30pm to 8:30pm at the Haddington Bridge Centre.

The Jewel Karate Club offers classes in Wado Kai – Karate Do in Musselburgh and Haddington. They have a range of classes suitable for different age groups and skill levels.

The Junior Karate classes are for primary school children aged 4 to 11 years old. Students in these classes will learn the fundamental moves and basic karate techniques. As they progress through their Mon Gradings (coloured belts), they will also learn combination techniques. Junior students have the opportunity to participate in club, local, and even national competitions.

The Senior Karate classes are for high school students and adults. In these classes, seasoned practitioners will reinforce their fundamental moves and basic karate techniques while also progressing into more advanced techniques through the Kyu Gradings system (tabb and coloured belts). Senior students are encouraged to engage in various opportunities, including club events, local competitions, national competitions, and the chance to participate in national teams.

The Family Karate classes are suitable for participants of all ages and skill levels, including parents, primary school students, and high school students. These classes offer a blend of fundamental moves and basic karate techniques that seamlessly transition into more advanced combination techniques. The emphasis in these classes is on creating a sense of community and offering a shared martial arts journey for every member of the family. Participants are encouraged to engage in club events and competitions.
