Jin Wu Koon Karate is a renowned martial arts club located in Ewingsdale, Australia. Established in 1977 by Light Sensei in Byron Bay, the club has produced numerous champions in karate, kickboxing, and kung fu at regional, state, national, and international championships. Over the years, JWK Karate has made significant contributions to the lives of generations of Byron Bay locals.

Sensei Light, who has been practising karate since 1974, is the instructor at the club. He trained under influential sensei such as Chan Cheuk Fai and Beng Soon Koh in Sydney and also received training in Japan. In Japan, Sensei Light was graded to 5th Dan by Soke Teruo Hayashi, the founder of Hayashi Ha Shito Ryu Kai Karate. He also trained with esteemed instructors like Sensei Hashimoto Tadashi and Sensei Junichiro Hamaguchi, who have trained several world kata champions and have been successful in international karate competitions.

The roots of JWK Karate lie in the Chan brothers, Cheuk Sam, Cheuk Wah, and Cheuk Fai, who learned kung fu from their father and Grand Master of Jin Wu Koon, Chan Keng Wan. Excelling in Budokan karate due to their solid foundation in kung fu, the influence of Hayashi Ha karate has further shaped JWK Karate over time.
