Coach Owen is a 1st Dan black belt with experience in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He brings a unique perspective to our coaching team and is dedicated to helping students improve their skills.

Located in Perth, Judo Ryu Western Australia is a thriving sports club dedicated to the practise and promotion of Judo. We offer classes for both juniors and seniors, with training sessions held during the school term. Junior classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, while senior classes are held on Tuesdays from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
At Judo Ryu Western Australia, we believe in teaching Judo in an active, fun, and safe manner. Our members are taught a variety of techniques while also learning important values such as respect and care for each other. Judo is a duo sport, meaning it requires the participation of two people, fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among our members.
The benefits of practising Judo are numerous. It is a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages, from 5 years old and up. Judo has been an Olympic sport since 1964 and offers a range of physical and mental benefits such as improved coordination, mobility, flexibility, weight loss or management, speed, strength, agility, power development, and self-confidence.

Head coach Robert, a 4th Dan Black Belt and International Referee, leads our team alongside senior coach Patrick, a 2nd Dan Black Belt, and coach Owen, a 1st Dan Black Belt with expertise in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
In addition to our regular training sessions, we also offer Judo in your school programmes. These programmes provide students with the opportunity to learn self-defence techniques, basic Japanese terminology, and engage in physical activity. Schools can register for a complimentary quote and explore grant options without any obligations.
