Jukado Ryu, a martial arts club based in Worksop, offers a unique and comprehensive approach to self-defence and personal development. Established in 1995, the club has over 35 years of instructor experience and prides itself on promoting a healthy lifestyle and teaching positivity through self-defence.
Jukado Ryu specialises in three martial arts disciplines: Jujitsu, Karate, and Aikido. The club's teaching methods focus on a practical, realistic, and effective hands-on approach. Students learn how to control fear and protect themselves without hesitation. Techniques are taught in a progressive manner, starting with simpler techniques and gradually introducing more advanced ones as skills develop.
Sensei Craig Bailey, a 6th Dan in Karate, Jujitsu, and Aikido, is the chief instructor at Jukado Ryu. With over 21 years of experience, he offers high-quality tuition to both beginners and experienced martial artists. Sensei Bailey is a qualified adult and further education instructor, as well as a self-defence trainer.
Jukado Ryu welcomes individuals of all ages, with a minimum age requirement of 12 years. The club offers classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings, starting at 7:30 pm. The first lesson is free, but it is recommended to give at least 24 hours' notice of attendance to secure a trial space.
In addition to regular classes, Jukado Ryu offers one-to-one tuition with Sensei Craig Bailey and Sensei Carl Rodda, a 2nd Dan in Karate, Jujitsu, and Aikido. Corporate team-building sessions are also available for groups of up to 12 students.
Jukado Ryu is not just about martial arts training; it also emphasises the importance of a healthy lifestyle and personal growth. The club promotes self-confidence and supports individuals in setting and achieving their goals. Many members have praised the club for the positive impact it has had on their lives, both on a physical and mental level.
Aside from training, Jukado Ryu organises special events and social occasions for members and their families. One highlight is the annual demonstration night, which serves as a presentation and fundraising event. Students have the opportunity to showcase their skills, and trophies, awards, and grading ceremonies take place.
