Hey Sports Community,
Joe from Just Breathe Wellbeing wanted to share a few things about what he’s been up to. He's the bloke behind this wellness programme and yoga studio based in Holywood, UK. Joe's been in the yoga game for over a decade and has a solid track record in helping folks tackle anxiety and catch better z’s. On top of yoga, he’s a qualified Reflexologist and Massage Therapist, and he's chuffed to be a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). You might also catch him volunteering with a Belfast charity, where he offers massage treatments to those who've been through trauma.
If you're keen on therapeutic bodywork, Joe's your guy. You can book a private session by giving him a ring. Joe's known for making everyone feel right at home, no matter their skill level. His classes bring a mix of enthusiasm and practicality, leaving you refreshed from head to toe. Attendees often find they connect more deeply with themselves after his sessions.
At the studio, the focus is on Kundalini Yoga, aka the “yoga of awareness.” This practice promises to give you grace, balance, and a sense of calm as you navigate life's ups and downs. No need to worry about previous yoga experience; the benefits kick in from your very first class.
Kundalini Yoga is for everyone – if you can breathe and move, you’re set. The practice balances your glands and strengthens the nervous system, leaving you feeling more alive. Joe is great at offering modifications to suit individual needs, so you’ll be well looked after.
Expect to kick off a class by tuning in with the chant “Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo,” which helps connect you to your inner guidance. From there, you’ll dive into breathwork (pranayama) to calm the mind and enrich your life. The class includes kriyas – dynamic combos of postures, breathing, and sound – to balance your body, mind, and soul. Meditation is also on the menu, bringing greater awareness and control over your thoughts. You'll also work with mantras and mudras to shift any negative patterns and tap into your higher consciousness.
For those into bodywork, Joe offers reflexology sessions at Just Breathe Wellbeing. This involves working on the reflex points in your feet to relax and balance various parts of your body. The result? Improved circulation and better nutrient and oxygen supply to your cells.
A few tips for your visit: avoid eating 2-3 hours before your class, wear loose-fitting clothing, and bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Joe’s made sure Just Breathe Wellbeing is a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds can enjoy a transformative experience.
Catch you on the mat!
Cheers,
