It is a FAST10 Race Day, which means it incorporates the excitement of T20 Cricket with vibrant colours, music, and quick entertainment. Attendees can also participate in the “Owner for the Day” experience, where they become an owner of a horse in the last race and can relish the thrill of victory or defeat.

Another highly anticipated event is the Alabar Kaikoura Cup Race Day. This race day features some of the best pacers in the country, competing in the $60,000 Alabar Kaikoura Cup. Alongside this prestigious race, there are also the $40,000 IRT Your Horse Our Passion South Bay Trotting Cup, showcasing the best trotters, and the $50,000 NZB NZ Yearling Sales Aged Classic, featuring aged pacers. With a total of 7 competitive harness races, this race day promises an exhilarating experience for all attendees.

In addition to the thrilling races, the Kaikoura Trotting Club offers plenty of entertainment on course. Live music performances by John McCabe, kids' entertainment, and food and drink vendors ensure a lively and enjoyable atmosphere for racegoers.

To enhance the race day experience, the club offers various accommodation options. Camping sites, mini marquees, and gazebo sites are available for purchase, providing visitors with comfortable and convenient facilities during their stay.

The Kaikoura Trotting Club also hosts the Rockgas Kaikoura Most Appropriate Raceday Attire competition. Sponsored by Rockgas Kaikoura, Abbey Road Clothing & Surf, and Addy and Lou Boutique, attendees can enter the competition by showcasing their best race day outfit. The winner will be chosen in the final after Race 4.
