All the instructors at Karate NSW are suitably qualified with both the Australian and the International Chitoryu Karate Do Federations. This association allows for regular visits from guest instructors from the International Headquarters in Japan, including the international Head of Chitoryu Karate, Soke Sensei, who visits the Karate school annually. This gives students the opportunity to learn from experienced and highly skilled martial artists.
As a member of Karate NSW Schools, individuals have access to a wide range of relevant resources from the National website. In addition, members can participate in regional, national, and international self-defence and martial arts events. These events include training camps, workshops, social events, karate demonstrations, and karate tournaments.
Karate NSW is led by Sensei Mark Snow, a Shihan (Master Teacher) with 39 years of training in Chitoryu Karate. He has been actively teaching the art since 1992 and is also a fully qualified school teacher. With his extensive experience, Sensei Snow brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Karate NSW community.
Chitoryu Karate has been taught in the Blue Mountains and Regional NSW area since 1976 with classes in Lithgow, Katoomba, and Blackheath. Many families and individuals continue to benefit from regular training in Chitoryu karate, which is suitable for children, teenagers, and adults of all ages. Karate NSW continuously holds events within Australia and often takes part in competitions around the world.
At Karate NSW, the Dojo (Karate school) provides a safe and exciting environment for people to learn an effective martial art. Participants develop confidence, self-discipline, awareness, self-defence skills, and fitness. The school places a strong emphasis on respect for oneself, respect for others, and respect for the environment. Through goal-setting and hard work, individuals gain self-esteem and self-respect, thus building a strong foundation of character.
Karate NSW offers classes at various venues in the Blue Mountains area. The Lithgow classes take place at Cooerwull Public School on Mondays. Katoomba classes are held at Katoomba Public School on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Blackheath classes are conducted at Blackheath Community Centre on Thursdays.
