Welcome to Karat Shotokan Saint-Hubert! Offering classes for all ages and levels, our school is dedicated to providing quality instruction in the art of karate. Whether you are looking to introduce your 5-year-old to a recreational class or to start a new activity in your retirement, we have a class for you.
Our school boasts exceptional instructors, including our head instructor Jean-Pierre Cusson, 7th dan, who has been practising karate since 1972. With an instructor A certification from JKA and special rights for dan exams awarded in Tokyo in April 2011, Sensei Cusson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the dojo.
We are proud to be associated with the City of Longueuil, allowing us to use their facilities at a reduced cost. This partnership enables us to offer competitive registration fees, making karate lessons accessible to all in the community.
With over 30 years of experience, Karat Shotokan Saint-Hubert has built a strong reputation for its high-quality teaching and diverse range of classes. Affiliated with the JKA Association of Quebec (AKJKAQ), our school focuses on family-friendly, participatory classes, while also participating in competitive events and offering advancement seminars throughout the year.
Meet our dedicated teachers: Sensei Jean-Pierre Cusson, Head Instructor; Sensei Johanne Hbert, Instructor; Alexis Desrosiers, Recreational Instructor. Offering a variety of classes to cater to different skill levels: Recreational, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced, our school ensures that everyone can learn and enjoy the art of karate.
Following the Dj kun, or the “rules of the dojo,” we emphasize values such as striving for character perfection, loyalty, self-improvement, respect for others, and the rejection of violent behaviour. At Karat Shotokan Saint-Hubert, we strive to uphold these principles and create a welcoming and respectful environment for all practitioners. Join us and discover the art of karate in a supportive and inclusive community.
