Begins in 2010 when founder Katie Cox had a vision of creating a modern and vibrant performing arts school in Warlingham, NZ. Katie's aim was to inspire young performers, foster new talent, and provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for all.
At KCDS, they pride themselves on their commitment to supporting those with additional needs. The teachers at KCDS have experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) in both dance classes and educational settings. The team at KCDS consists of professional and fully qualified teachers who provide exceptional training to their students. Their dedication to excellence is reflected in the outstanding examination results that KCDS students consistently achieve in their dance exams.
KCDS offers a wide range of dance styles, including RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap, Jazz, Acrobatic Arts, Contemporary, Rambert, Lyrical Dance, Kicks, Leaps, and Turns. They also offer Pre-School Dance, Musical Theatre, Vocal Coaching, LAMDA Drama, Ballet Development Programmes with guest teachers from the Royal Ballet, and Enrichment Programmes. Whether your child is looking for a new hobby, professional training, or a chance to make new friends, KCDS has a class for everyone.
The studio also prides itself on its sense of community. They host events and shows that bring together students, parents, and staff. After the challenges of COVID-19, the KCDS Revival Show in 2023 marked a fantastic comeback and served as a reminder of the support and dedication of everyone involved.
