The Katie Wright School of Dance, based in Nottingham, has been getting local and national attention since Katie Wright set it up in November 2011. The school runs a variety of dance classes for everyone – from 18-month-old toddlers to adults. Whether it's ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern Theatre, Acrobatic Arts, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, or even singing, Katie's got it covered.
Katie makes sure her students get plenty of chances to shine on stage. Everyone's encouraged to strut their stuff at the annual show at Nottingham Playhouse. The school's also got a solid track record at Midlands festivals, bagging some impressive wins.
Katie's troupe doesn't just stick to local gigs, though. They've been seen at big-name places like Debenhams and John Lewis Nottingham, and even starred in a nationwide Wilkos advert. The highlights? Performing at Disneyland Paris and London's O2.
She keeps a close eye on how well her students are doing with ISTD graded exams, held right at the school. This makes things less stressful for the kids. All the teachers at Katie's school are not only top-notch in their dance fields but are also DBS checked and first-aid trained. This means they can handle teaching kids of all ages and skill levels.
Katie’s always open to welcoming new students year-round. Got questions? Just hit up the “contact us” page to get in touch with her. Katie herself is a proud AISTD member and brings heaps of experience to the table. Her school’s made headlines with ten students recently performing at Nottingham's Theatre Royal alongside acts from Britain’s Got Talent and West End stars.
Katie's dedication has landed the school the 'Best Performing Opportunities' award at the Dance Business Awards. The school's been stellar at organising shows, charity events, and performances at top spots like Disneyland Paris, Birmingham's NEC, and John Lewis. Katie Wright School of Dance is all about fostering talent and passion in Nottingham and further afield.
