Kia ora sports whanau,
Barry here from the Katikati Bowling Club - and he's excited to share a few updates with you all. As you know, the club is a buzzing hub for lawn bowls in Katikati. With a community of passionate bowlers, the club opens its doors to players of all skill levels.
Barry and the team, including patrons David Croft and Anne Newson, are dedicated to making the club a welcoming place for everyone. The executive committee is working hard this year to ensure we all have access to top-notch facilities and a great game.
Stuart Watkins and Rob Coleman are the heroes who keep our greens in tip-top shape, making sure every game is as smooth as it gets. For those looking to sharpen their skills, Frank Burns is here with coaching sessions that cater to all abilities.
Summer at the club is packed with activities. Tom Chase is at the helm of our tournaments, giving players a chance to show off their skills. And if you’re after a more relaxed game, our roll-ups on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays promise good times and great company.
We also have the popular Twilight Bowls event in 2024, thanks to John Newton. Imagine playing lawn bowls under the lights - it’s an evening not to be missed.
The club is open to everyone, young or old, experienced or new to the sport. If you’re keen to join a friendly and supportive community, head to our website for membership forms and more info.
None of this would be possible without our fantastic sponsors and fundraising efforts. Their support is crucial in keeping the club vibrant and ensuring we have the best facilities and programmes.
Barry and the team are all about creating memorable experiences. Whether you’re chasing the thrill of competition or just looking for a social game, the Katikati Bowling Club is the place to be.
Come join us and be part of something special.
Cheers,
Barry and the Katikati Bowling Club Team
