About
At the Kauhane School of Polynesian Dance, located in Mission, British Columbia, dancers of all ages and skill levels are welcomed to learn the art of traditional Hawaiian dancing, as well as special lessons in Tahitian and Maori dance. Founded in 1999 by Kumu Hula Paddy Kauhane, the school aims to perpetuate the unique traditions and cultural heritage of the Hula and other Polynesian dances.
Under the guidance of Kumu Paddy Kauhane, who has over 20 years of experience in teaching Polynesian dance, students have the opportunity to learn from world-renowned teachers and professionals in the field. The school is governed by The Spirit of the Pacific Cultural Society, a Canadian Non-Profit Organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Polynesian culture and dance.
Although Kumu Paddy Kauhane now resides in Hawaii, she continues to mentor and teach the school's leaders and students, ensuring that the lineage and traditions of the school are carried on. The school's dedicated instructors and staff in Mission uphold the values of humility and respect that are essential in Polynesian dance, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who wish to learn.
Whether you are a beginner looking to explore the beauty of Polynesian dance or an experienced dancer wanting to deepen your skills, the Kauhane School of Polynesian Dance offers a range of classes to suit your needs.
