Kawana Waters Canoe Club (KWCC) is a sports club located at Lake Kawana on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Established in 2002, KWCC offers squad training for paddlers of all levels on the Sunshine Coast.
The club is proud to have Shane Dalziel as its current coach. Shane is a former state and national kayaking champion with over 20 years of coaching experience. As a Level 3 Accredited Surf & Kayak Coach, he has mentored many KWCC members to successful campaigns at State, National, and Olympic level kayaking. Shane's expertise and dedication have led to the development and success of many paddlers in the club.
The club takes pride in its members' achievements, with both current and past members achieving selection to state and national kayak teams. KWCC is also a strong supporter of its paddlers who have represented Australia at the Olympic level, showcasing the club's commitment to excellence and the development of high-performance athletes.
The club's location at Lake Kawana provides a stunning backdrop for training and competitions. The 2 km eight-lane course at Lake Kawana is utilised for both local and national competitions, allowing paddlers to test their skills and compete against top-level athletes.
To become a member of KWCC, individuals can choose between Senior Membership (Full) for $180 or Junior Membership (Full) for $130. Membership fees can be paid directly to KWCC once registration is completed through the Paddle Australia website. Details for electronic fund transfer (EFT) are provided during the registration process.
For new members, the process involves visiting the Paddle Australia website and selecting the “Join” button. From the list of available clubs, decide “Kawana Waters Canoe Club” and select the appropriate membership type. Complete the required details and acknowledge the waiver. The payment details, including the amount due and EFT instructions, will be provided for depositing the membership fee to the KWCC account.
Existing members can renew their membership through the Paddle Australia website by selecting the “Renew” button and logging into their account. Choose “Kawana Waters Canoe Club” from the list of available clubs and select the membership type. Complete the necessary details and acknowledge the waiver. The payment details will be provided for renewing the membership via EFT to the KWCC account.
