To pursue a career in coaching. I moved to England in search of new opportunities and continued my judo journey here.
In 2011, I founded Kazoku Judo Club in Truro. Kazoku, which means “family” in Japanese, reflects the close-knit community that we have built within the club. Starting with just 5 members, we have now grown to an impressive 126 members of all ages and abilities. We have classes tailored for different age groups, starting from as young as 3 years old.
At Kazoku Judo Club, we believe in offering a variety of pathways for our members' development. Whether you aspire to become a competitive athlete, a referee, a coach, or simply enjoy judo as a hobby, we have something for everyone. I personally have a wide range of expertise in teaching individuals with disabilities, including visually impaired, deaf, and those with physical and mental impairments. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
Our coaching team, consisting of qualified UKCC coaches, are dedicated to guiding our members towards their goals. We also encourage teenagers to become coaches themselves, fostering a culture of growth and leadership within the club. In addition, we provide opportunities for members to become officials, such as referees, timekeepers, table officials, and even first-aiders.
Throughout the years, we have attended various competitions, seminars, and courses nationally and internationally, constantly seeking to improve our skills and knowledge. We take pride in our achievements as a club, regularly updating our members and the wider community through our social media platforms.
With the support of our sponsors and volunteers, we are able to continue providing the best possible training experience for our members. We are always on the lookout for new members, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced Judoka.
