When joining our club, Kazoku Karate-Do is a family-run martial arts club located in Reading, New Zealand. With over 20 years of combined karate experience, our club is dedicated to sharing our knowledge and empowering our students with the skills necessary for self-defence.
In 2019, we became affiliated with the prestigious British Combat Karate Association (BCKA), known as the UK's premier and most progressive karate organisation. This affiliation demonstrates our commitment to excellence and ensures that our students receive top-quality training.
At Kazoku Karate-Do, we focus on developing essential skills such as self-confidence, self-control, and coordination. Our classes are designed to be exciting, enjoyable, and informative, providing a safe and supportive environment for learning and growth.
One of our exciting offerings is the Kazoku Kombat Defence Course. This six-week course is designed to enhance your mindset, physical fitness, and martial arts skills. Participants will engage in a variety of exercises, including general fitness exercises, combat combinations, striking focus pad drills, weighted combos, bag groundwork, and self-defence techniques such as rape escapes. The course is open to all, and the next course will start on Tuesday, 13th June at Shinfield Infants School.
We offer a range of classes throughout the week to cater to different ages and skill levels. Our Kazoku Family Karate classes are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sunday mornings at various locations in Reading. These classes are open to individuals aged five and above, as well as families who want to train together. We also have specialised Karate Kids classes for children aged four to twelve, held every Wednesday evening and Sunday morning.
During our sessions, we utilise various training tools like our wheel of knowledge and online training with experts such as Iain Abernethy. Additionally, we employ a traffic light system to provide important information during our sessions.
