The outdoor area features two full-sized grass football pitches, perfect for the home team Kings Cliffe United FC, who have made KC Active their permanent home after many years of playing in various locations. The pitches are also available for other sports and activities, with all necessary equipment and changing facilities provided.
For those looking for a versatile all-weather playing surface, the floodlit 3G multi-use games area (MUGA) is ideal. Spanning 60m × 40m, the MUGA can accommodate football, hockey, fitness training, and a wide range of other sports and fitness activities. Regular coaching sessions are organised by Kings Cliffe FC, and the facilities are also utilised by other local clubs.
Tennis enthusiasts will be thrilled with the three state-of-the-art tennis courts available for hire. With well-maintained nets and an excellent playing surface, players of all abilities can enjoy free play or coaching sessions organised by Kings Cliffe Tennis Club. Club members also enjoy discounted rates for court rentals.
Netball enthusiasts are not left out at KC Active, with two state-of-the-art floodlit netball courts available for hire. The facility has successfully hosted a number of netball tournaments, and the Cliffe Ladies team operates from the centre, participating in various local leagues.
In addition to the sporting amenities, KC Active offers a pavilion building that houses a range of amenities. The underfloor-heated community room serves as a function room, hosting various activities such as dance and fitness classes, toddler playgroups, and community organisations like the Kings Cliffe Gardening Association and Heritage Society. The room has a maximum capacity of 45 people and is equipped with a kitchen, changing facilities, storage, and toilets.
Visitors to KC Active can also enjoy the Active Café, which opened in 2022. Although the opening hours are being finalised, the café aims to provide refreshments to those attending events or watching their children play sports. Volunteers are always welcome to join the team and help run the café, so anyone interested is encouraged to get in touch.
