Kells Anglers

The Kells Anglers Association, established in 1893, owns the fishing rights to approximately 14 miles of the Blackwater River in Co. Meath, from Lough Ramor to Kells. This medium-sized river is known for its top Wild Brown Trout fishing in Ireland, with a variety of trout ranging from lb to 1lb, and even larger trout caught each year. The Association hosts a number of Junior competitions and fly-fishing lessons, welcoming parents to enjoy a barbecue while children have the opportunity to catch various fish species including Trout, Perch, Roach, and Bream.

In addition to trout fishing, the Association has developed spawning streams for both trout and salmon, leading to increased rod-caught salmon numbers.
