Kensey Vale Bowling Club has a rich history, dating back to its establishment in 1927. Initially formed with three rinks and two tennis courts, the club has expanded over the years to offer six rinks and a range of modern facilities. Despite facing challenges, such as a devastating fire in 1974 that destroyed the wooden pavilion, the club demonstrated resilience and quickly reestablished temporary accommodations in the form of a Hut. The present pavilion was officially opened in June 1976, marking a significant milestone for the club.
In 2002, Kensey Vale Bowling Club celebrated its Diamond Jubilee, with the honour of hosting an EBA Team and the EBA President, Wayne Manley. The club also took remarkable strides in river bank improvements during this year. Furthermore, between 2003 and 2006, club members played a pivotal role in expanding the clubhouse, adding a large function room, new toilets, changing rooms, and a kitchen. Notably, the year 2007 saw the installation of an automatic watering system for the green, a project undertaken by dedicated club members.
Kensey Vale Bowling Club is a proud and active member of the bowling community. In 2010, club member Jean Wilkins was elected President of Bowls Cornwall for 2011, showcasing the club's commitment to the sport. The club prides itself on its friendly and inclusive environment, welcoming individuals of all ages who have an interest in the sport of bowling.
