Will continue to progress. Our aim is to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment for all swimmers.
At Kingfishers Swim School, we offer a wide range of swimming lessons to cater to different age groups and skill levels. For parents with babies and toddlers, we provide Adult and Child Lessons, where up to two caregivers can join their child in the water. These sessions focus on building water safety skills and laying the foundation for independent swimming. We also offer opportunities for certified awards in these lessons.
Our Swimming Lessons are designed for children aged 3 years and above. With small class sizes and highly qualified instructors, we ensure that each child receives personalised attention and has specific learning goals for their level. We also provide opportunities for certified skill and distance awards to motivate and reward our swimmers.
For children looking to enhance their water safety skills, we offer Rookie Lifeguard Courses. These courses involve games, team building challenges, and fun activities while teaching the basics of life-saving and first aid. Swimmers have the opportunity to complete Bronze, Silver, and Gold level Rookie Lifeguard awards.
We understand that some children may be nervous or not yet ready to join a class without their adult. That's why we offer Transition Classes for 3-5 year olds. The aim of these classes is to build confidence in the water and prepare children for independent swimming.
For those who prefer more personalised attention, we provide 1:1 or 2:1 classes with our highly trained staff. Whether it's for additional support, overcoming a fear of water, or targeting specific skills, our individual lessons can be tailored to meet each swimmer's needs.
Kingfishers Swim School was founded in 1994 by Denise Kemp and has been offering swimming tuition to children aged 3 months and above. Denise's family, including Sophie, Jordan, and Hazel, who are all ASA Level 2 qualified, play an integral role in running the lessons. As Denise moves towards retirement, her daughters have taken on the responsibility of weekday lessons. The swim school follows a consistent curriculum and operates closely with a partner swim school.
At Kingfishers Swim School, we prioritise consistency and progression. All our lessons are meticulously planned to follow the STA's badge scheme or Swim England's guidelines for under 3s. Our teachers use the same lesson plans for each level, ensuring that even if a teacher is unavailable, the planned lesson will still proceed and swimmers will continue to make progress. We believe in incorporating fun into our lessons to create an enjoyable and engaging learning experience for all.
