Scott, the organiser, wanted to share the latest about the Kirkby Lonsdale Skatepark in Carnforth. Recently renovated, the skatepark now offers skaters a smoother ride with various concrete obstacles laid out on a tarmac base.
One section has an open-sided bowl that leads into a funbox with a hubba, finishing with a bowled corner. Along the main course, skaters will find ledges and a rail to practice on. It’s become a favourite spot for local skaters who wish to refine their basic skills, thanks to its smooth and well-maintained surfaces.
The skatepark is open to the public, though it follows specific opening and closing times. Located outdoors at Tram Lane in Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria, it's easy to reach via public transport. The nearest train station is Wennington, but a bus or taxi from there is recommended. Alternatively, the Booths bus stop is just a short walk away.
While there are no on-site toilets, nearby free facilities are available for convenience.
Recently, the skatepark has been in the news, celebrating partnerships with Jackpot Peanut Butter and The Skateparks Project. The latter provides free advice and resources for building skateparks and runs the UK's largest skatepark directory.
Scott encourages everyone in the sports community to check out Kirkby Lonsdale Skatepark—a great spot for honing your skills.
