

Kiwa Pools in Gisborne offers a top-notch swimming experience for all skill levels and ages. Located on Centennial Marine Drive, this facility boasts a 50-metre lane pool with a consistent 27°C temperature, ideal for serious swimmers. The leisure area includes a splashpad for the little ones, aged 4-6, and a toddler's pool, both comfortably warm at 29-31°C.
You’ll also find a hydrotherapy pool and a learn-to-swim pool, each at a soothing 31°C, perfect for muscle recovery and beginner swimmers. For convenience, the facility has well-equipped changing rooms and the Rising Sun Cafe for refreshments.
The outdoor section features a hydroslide, a toddler's pool with a slide, and a dive pool. Barbecue facilities are available, making it great for group gatherings. Be mindful that outdoor amenities may close due to bad weather, and ongoing demolition work might affect opening times.
During summer, from Labour weekend to 25 April, indoor pools operate from 6am to 8pm, while the leisure and toddler's splashpad pools open from 11am to 6pm. Outdoor pools are accessible from 10am to 6pm, extending to 8pm on public holidays. The pools are closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday, with a 1pm opening on Anzac Day.
Admission is affordable: $5.80 for adults and $4 for kids aged 4-16, seniors, and Community Services Card holders. Kids under 2 enter for free. Family passes are available, such as the Aihe pass for $10 (1 adult, 2 kids), the Kkahi pass for $15 (2 adults, 2 kids or 1 adult, 4 kids), and the Paikea pass for $20 (2 adults, 4 kids). Spectators pay $1.50, with a $5 fee for unlimited hydroslide use. Aquafit classes are $7 on a casual basis.
