Hey everyone,
Joanne Thompson, our Shepherd Secretary, alongside Mark Jackson, our Treasurer, wants you to know what’s been happening at Knaresborough Town Football Club. Simon Weaver, the Club Manager, and Paul Clayton, the Assistant Manager, have had quite the season, and Sarah Brown, our Club Physio, has been keeping everyone in top shape.
Founded back in 1900, Knaresborough Town FC has grown into a strong name in North Yorkshire. We're proud to compete in the Northern Counties East League, West Yorkshire Association Football League, and West Riding County Women's Football League. Our home base is at Manse Lane.
Our women’s team, which kicked off in the 2022-23 season, smashed it with a 100% win record and earned their spot in Division Two of the West Riding County Women's League for the 2023-24 season. We’re all about bringing together passionate and dedicated female footballers, giving them excellent coaching, top-notch facilities, and a supportive yet challenging environment.
Our men’s teams are also doing us proud. The first team and reserves compete in various leagues with some fantastic support from our sponsors. Shoutout to SignHub for our home kit, Swish Fibre for the away kit, Cleveland Build Ltd for the match day tracksuits, and GH Brooks for the training tracksuits. Also, thanks to Abbotts Memorials for sponsoring the first team’s training tops and Market Tavern for the reserves team, with Carling and Swish Fibre also backing them.
For the women’s teams, if anyone’s interested in training or getting involved, get in touch with Ged Maloney via email at gedmaloney@hotmail.co.uk.
That’s the latest from Knaresborough Town FC. We’re excited about where we’re headed, and we’re committed to the growth of both men's and women’s football in the Knaresborough and Harrogate areas.
Cheers,
Joanne and the Team at Knaresborough Town Football Club
