Knocknacarra FC

Located in Galway, Knocknacarra FC is a local Sports Club with a rich 26-year history. From humble beginnings, the club has now become the largest club in Connaught, catering to a diverse range of members from 3-year-old children to adults. With 80% of its membership under the age of 16, Knocknacarra FC has become an integral part of the local community in Knocknacarra, priding itself on principles of total inclusion and competitiveness.

The club's focus on inclusivity has allowed it to significantly increase the number and diversity of its teams. In addition to the popular Football Academy for kids up to 11 years old, which includes the Little Eagles programme for children under 5, Knocknacarra FC also has a FAI Football for All programme team and a power wheelchair team called Knocknacarra Speeders. Their commitment to inclusion was recognised in July 2019 when they hosted an amputee football tournament involving Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians, and Cork City.

Knocknacarra FC's mission is to provide an opportunity for youth to develop and grow in the community through participating in sport. They aim to foster a welcoming, enjoyable, safe, and competitive environment that supports the social and physical development of children of all skill levels. The club is continuously fundraising to invest in facilities and coaching across all teams and groups to further grow their inclusive and community-based club.

As Knocknacarra FC continues to expand and meet the demands of its growing membership, funds raised will be used to add more playing facilities and support Football for Diversity groups. The club's dedication to building community through football shines through in their inclusive approach and commitment to providing opportunities for all members of the local community to participate and thrive in the sport.
