Komaru Jiujitsu

Komaru Jiujitsu, located in Sainte-Julie, is a modern martial arts school founded in 2019 by Prof. ric Nol. Prof. ric has been involved in the world of martial arts since 1989, starting with taekwondo before moving on to grappling arts such as judo, jiu-jitsu, sambo, and Shoot-Wrestling.

With over 16 years of instructing experience, Prof. ric has taught at various academies, including Outros Caras in Longueuil for ten years, before establishing the Komaru Jiujitsu approach.

Prof. ric is a dedicated and experienced instructor, holding a second-degree black belt in jiu-jitsu (Machado Jiu-jitsu lineage) and a “Shodan-Ho” certification in Shoot Wrestling from the international organization S. A. W.

(Submission Arts Wrestling). Additionally, he is a level 2 certified Combat Sambo practitioner and a black belt in judo recognized by Judo Canada. With his expertise in grappling, Prof. ric has developed a unique and hybrid style of jiu-jitsu, which he describes as simple, eclectic, and unorthodox, naming it “Komaru Jiu-Jitsu” in honour of the nickname of the master Mitsuyo Maeda.
