Advanced levels (ages 7 – 18 years). Beginner Dance Classes Beginner classes in various genres for preschoolers and young beginners.
At KS School of Dance, located in Cambridge, New Zealand, we pride ourselves in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for our dancers. Since its establishment in 2008, our dance school has been dedicated to helping students become the best they can be, both as dancers and individuals. We believe in the power of dance to teach discipline, confidence, and self-expression, and we strive to instil these values in all our students.
We offer a wide range of dance classes for boys and girls of all abilities, starting from preschool and beginner levels all the way up to professional level training. Our classes cover various dance genres, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and acro. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to pursue a career in dance, we have classes to cater to their needs.
As a dance school, we also provide opportunities for students to take IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) and NZAMD (New Zealand Association of Modern Dance) examinations. While annual exams are encouraged, they are not compulsory. Additionally, our dancers have the chance to showcase their skills in our dance productions, which are held every two years. The next production is scheduled for July 2020.
Furthermore, our students have the opportunity to perform at local community events, allowing them to gain valuable stage experience.
As evidence of our commitment to excellence, we are proud to have trained graduates who have continued their dance education at esteemed full-time dance institutes. Some notable alumnae include Molly Robinson, who attended The National Ballet School in Melbourne and New Zealand School of Dance in Wellington, and Stella Soar, who trained at Brent Street in Sydney. Other graduates have pursued their dance training at Whitireia Performance Centre in Wellington and Ettinghausens Performing Art Centre in Sydney.
Our dance school has also had scholarship winners and nominations in various prestigious competitions, such as the IDTA Ballet Scholarship and NZAMD Nominations. Marisca Nagel, Molly Robinson, Anneleise O'Brien, Brooke Vanin, and many others have received recognition for their talent and dedication.
