About

Train with Kyomeikai Karate Club! Each week, Sensei Ken and his team focus on various aspects of Shotokan karate, welcoming everyone over 13, regardless of experience.

The club, affiliated with the Shotokan Karate International Federation and following the teachings of Soke Hirokazu Kanazawa, boasts experienced and enthusiastic instructors. They adhere to the SKIF world syllabus while adding their unique skills and techniques to each session.

Members have regular opportunities to train with renowned Japanese and international instructors and even attend global courses to broaden their expertise. Training with Kyomeikai Karate Club improves health, fitness, and self-defence skills, and boosts stamina, coordination, confidence, and flexibility. Private lessons are also available for personalised training.

Stay updated with the latest news, courses, and events through the club's Facebook and Instagram pages. Trainings are on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at St. Luke's, 270 Sandycombe Road. Every last Thursday of the month, join the club’s “debrief” at Kew Gardens Hotel.

With strong links to SKIF Japan HQ, Kyomeikai instructors regularly receive training from Japan. The club participates in national courses and an annual trip to the SKI Belgium Summer Camp. All dan grades are officially registered with SKIF Japan, recognising members' achievements.

Kyomeikai Karate Club in Richmond offers a traditional Shotokan karate experience, grounded in technical excellence and the rich heritage of karate. Whether you're a beginner or returning to martial arts, Kyomeikai is ready to welcome you into a supportive and challenging environment.
