Welcome to Lake District Barbell, a class-based functional fitness gym located in Cockermouth, Cumbria. Our gym offers a unique approach to fitness through functional fitness classes.

So, what exactly is functional fitness? It is a core strength and conditioning programme that combines bodyweight exercises, movements with weights, and cardio workouts. Led by our experienced coaches, our classes are constantly varied and challenging. Every day, we post a workout that all members can follow either on their own, with a friend, or as part of a group.

At Lake District Barbell, we stand for helping you maximise your potential and achieve your fitness goals. Our functional fitness classes are suitable for beginners as well as experienced gym users. We take care of every aspect of the sessions, from warm-ups to workouts, so all you have to do is show up and give it your all. For those interested in Olympic Weightlifting, we also offer specialised classes.

Additionally, we have bootcamps, cardio clubs, and one-to-one sessions with our personal trainers for a more personalised approach to fitness.

With three sites spread across Cumbria, we are here to provide all the support and guidance you need on your fitness journey. Our friendly team is always ready to assist you.

We are open Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 22:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from 07:30 to 15:00. Our timetable includes a variety of classes throughout the week, starting as early as 06:00 and running until 20:00. Some of the classes we offer include Cardio Club, Crossfit, Gymnastics, Hyrox, and Team Crossfit. We also have dedicated time slots for open gym sessions.

To book your classes, we recommend using the Wodify app, available on the App Store. For drop-in sessions, you can use the link provided on our website.

We offer different membership options to suit your needs. These include drop-in single sessions, 2 sessions per week, a 10-block package, and unlimited use. We also have an open gym membership for those who prefer to work out on their own.

In addition to our fitness services, we also offer merchandise. Check out our clothing products, including hoodies, available for 30. We also have Reign energy drinks available for 2.
