Lake Doucette Motor Speedway

Lake Doucette Motor Speedway (LDMS) is a racing track located in the picturesque village of Lake Doucette, along the Salmon River. Operated by the South West Stock Car Association, LDMS is a 1/2 mile oval paved track situated approximately 25 kilometres north of Yarmouth in the Clare/Digby County district at Exit 32 on Highway 101. The track hosts 10 race days per season, running bi-weekly from June through September, featuring three classes of racecars: 4 Cylinder, V8 Stock, and Sportsman.

Established in 2020, Lake Doucette Motor Speedway boasts a rich history of 21 years of racing in South Western Nova Scotia. Originally built as a dirt bike track for the owner's son in 1999, LDMS quickly transitioned to hosting car races, attracting up to 100 drivers on race days. By 2004/2005, the track was paved, transforming into the top-notch racing venue it is today. Over the years, LDMS has seen various classes of cars race on its track, including but not limited to modified 4 cylinders, 6 cylinders, 8 cylinders, V8 Stock, Sportsman, Legends cars, and Civics.

The track has also played host to prestigious races such as the Wedgeport Lobster 100 and the Riverside Lobster 100, along with special theme days like Fan Appreciation Day, Kids Day, and Fun Day. The South West Stock Car Association, led by President Lanna Beattie and Vice President Jimothy Urquhart, is also a proud supporter of the Yarmouth Special Olympics.
