Arts, but Goju Ryu Karate always remained my true passion.
In 2005, I decided to take my dedication to the next level and started teaching karate. I became a certified instructor with the World Goju Ryu Karate-Do Academy (WGKA) and opened Langwarrin Karate-Do (WGKA) in Langwarrin, Victoria.
At Langwarrin Karate-Do, we are dedicated to promoting the art of traditional Japanese Karate (Goju Ryu) and helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds become healthier, happier, and more well-rounded. Our dojo is a place where respect and self-discipline are emphasised, but in a fun and friendly environment.
Conveniently located at the Lloyd Park reserve in the Langwarrin Scout Hall, our dojo offers a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for students to learn and grow. We have a flexible class schedule, with sessions held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday evenings from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm.
At Langwarrin Karate-Do, we offer a range of programmes and classes to cater to different individuals. Whether you are a beginner looking to start your martial arts journey or an experienced practitioner, our qualified and experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way.
Our chief instructor, Shihan Darren, is a 4th Dan black belt with years of experience and a true love for the sport. He began his martial arts training as a child in 1978 with Taekwondo and eventually fell in love with Karate and Goju Ryu. His dedication and passion for the art are evident in his teaching style and the positive impact he has on his students.
Langwarrin Karate-Do is a part of the World Goju Ryu Karate-Do Academy (WGKA), an organisation with over 500 students and highly qualified instructors across Victoria and New South Wales. WGKA is led by its founder and chief instructor, Max Fabris, an 8th Dan Kaicho with an impressive competitive background and coaching experience.
In addition to physical training, we also encourage our students to study the history and culture of Karate-Do. We believe that a well-rounded martial artist is not only skilled in techniques but also understands and appreciates the roots and values of the art.
So, whether you are looking to improve your fitness, learn self-defence skills, or simply join a community that shares your passion for Karate, Langwarrin Karate-Do (WGKA) is the place for you. Come and join us on the mat, and let us help you unleash your full potential!
