Lea Valley Karate Academy, located in central Hertfordshire and Essex, has been operating since 2004 under the expert guidance of Sensei Daniel Hollister, a former Senior England International with a 4th Dan Black Belt. The academy is proud to specialise in teaching traditional karate to the highest standards.

At Lea Valley Karate Academy, students learn all aspects of Wado Ryu Karate, ranging from self-defence techniques to top-level sport training, all within a safe and welcoming environment. The academy takes pride in maintaining a friendly atmosphere in which students can develop their skills and reach their full potential.

In addition to their dedication to karate, Lea Valley Karate Academy also values community engagement. The academy has previously partnered with SPACE, a registered charity in Hertfordshire that supports families affected by autism, ADHD, and related conditions. By working closely with this charity, Lea Valley Karate Academy demonstrates its commitment to making a positive impact in the local community.

Lea Valley Karate Academy takes the safeguarding of children and vulnerable individuals very seriously. The academy has been awarded the “safeguarding code in martial arts” certification, supported by Sport England. This certification acknowledges the academy's commitment to upholding the highest safeguarding standards and ensuring the welfare of all students.

The academy follows the guidance provided by the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) and the English Karate Federation requirements. All instructors and coaches complete the necessary child protection courses as part of their training, with refresher safeguarding training conducted every two years.

The safeguarding team at Lea Valley Karate Academy consists of Sensei Daniel Hollister as the Chief Instructor and Jennifer Williams as the Lead Safeguarding Officer/Club Welfare Officer.
