Jack would like to extend a warm welcome to the entire sports community on behalf of Lingfield Cricket Club. Situated in the heart of Lingfield, UK, the club is steeped in history, dating back to circa 1750, making it one of the oldest in the country. The club boasts three beautiful grounds in and around Lingfield, perfect for both playing and watching cricket.
Lingfield Cricket Club has a vibrant presence in the cricket scene. The 1st XI and 2nd XI squads compete in the premier divisions of the Shepherd Neame League, reflecting the club’s dedication and talent. Meanwhile, the 3rd and 4th XI teams are part of the Sussex Cricket League. For those who prefer a more relaxed game, there are three friendly sides: the Sunday XI, Midweek XI, and occasionally the Veterans XI.
Jack highlights the club’s strong focus on nurturing young talent. The junior section includes mixed teams for boys and girls from U8 to U16, playing in the Surrey Junior Cricket Championship and Sussex Cricket Leagues. Additionally, Lingfield Cricket Club takes part in the Sussex Junior Cricket Festivals for the U11 to U18 age groups.
The club has also seen a notable rise in interest from girls and women in recent years. As a result, teams have been formed to compete in the Surrey Girls Smash It League and the Women’s Softball League, ensuring cricket offers for everyone regardless of age or gender.
Training sessions are available for those keen to join. Senior men train on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Godstone Road from 6:30 pm, while the women’s sessions are on Tuesdays at the same location and time.
Jack emphasises that Lingfield Cricket Club is committed to creating a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all members. The club adheres to the privacy statement and terms and conditions set by Play-Cricket, and any instances of discrimination are taken seriously.
