Lingfield Youth Football Club (LYFC), also referred to as YE Pitch, is a grassroots youth football team located in Lingfield, New Zealand. The club is dedicated to providing a positive and inclusive environment for children to develop their football skills and enjoy the game.
The club has multiple home grounds, each catering to different age groups. The main ground, known as “The Lair,” is located at Godstone Rd. It features the Pavilion, which provides facilities such as toilets, tea/coffee, and snacks. The main pitch layout options include 5v5 for U6, U7, and U8 age groups, and 11v11 for U15, U16, and U18 age groups.
Another home ground is the Scandia-Hus Sports Field, located at Felcourt Rd. This field accommodates U6, U7, U8, U9, and U10 age groups. The facilities include toilets when open, ensuring a comfortable experience for players and spectators alike.
Talbot Recreation Ground, situated at Talbot Rd, is another home ground for the club. It hosts a full-size pitch suitable for U15 to U18 teams. Although access to the Pavilion hut, including toilet facilities, is normally unavailable, parking is available at the Gunpit car park, which is a short 3-minute walk to the ground. Here, visitors can enjoy a trip to Costa Coffee on their way.
For U13 and U14 age groups, the club utilises the playing field at Young Epilepsy, located at St Piers Lane. This single-format field caters specifically to these age groups. Unfortunately, there are no toilet facilities available at this location.
LYFC is committed to the safety and well-being of its members. The club adheres to the policies and requirements set out by the Football Association (FA) for working with children. Volunteers are required to complete various FA-facilitated courses, including criminal records checks, as part of the safeguarding process. The club works closely with volunteers to ensure compliance with these requirements.
In addition, LYFC prioritises the safeguarding of children involved in the sport. The club is dedicated to promoting best practises, recognising and addressing poor practises, and ensuring that concerns are reported promptly and effectively. The FA's Respect Principles are emphasised to create a fun, enjoyable, and safe football environment for all.
The club also emphasises the importance of first aid. Basic First Aid in Football and Introduction to First Aid in Football courses are available for individuals interested in expanding their knowledge of medical care for players of all ages. Additionally, the club provides training on recognising and responding appropriately to sudden cardiac arrests and concussion injuries.
Lingfield Youth Football Club (YE Pitch) welcomes anyone interested in getting involved or learning more about the club. Contact information and further details can be found on their social media pages and club directories.
