The Lisburn Golf Club, located in Lisburn, New Zealand, has a rich and storied history that dates back to its foundation in 1905. However, there is some debate surrounding the club's earlier incarnation, which was established in 1880 but ceased to exist in 1885/86.

For nearly 68 years, the club occupied a compact nine-hole course on Longstone Street in the heart of Lisburn. Over time, housing and other developments completely encircled the course, leading to issues with trespassing from neighbouring estates. This prompted the club to search for a new location, eventually leading to the purchase of 124 acres of land at Blaris Lodge.

In the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, the club's council made strategic decisions that allowed them to sell the Longstone Street land and secure the funds to develop a new course at Blaris Lodge. Renowned golf course designer F W Hawtree and Son were engaged to create the layout, which has remained largely unchanged since its inception. Hawtree's original plan featured two loops of nine holes, each starting and finishing at the clubhouse, with a par of 72 and a total length of 6604 yards from the competition tees.

Blaris Lodge's course was officially opened on June 6, 1973, and has since been celebrated for its ideal layout and strategic positioning. Over the years, the club has focused on further improving the course, including the installation of a drainage system, extensive tree planting, and attention to teeing areas. The course's proximity to major roads, such as the M1 and A1, makes it easily accessible from all parts of the country.

Lisburn Golf Club also boasts an impressive collection of cups and trophies, some of which date back to the club's inception. They have also achieved success in various interclub competitions. While the club continues to compile comprehensive records of their achievements, they welcome any assistance in filling in any missing details.
