Wing Chun Kung Fu Harrow is thrilled to introduce Little Dragon Classes, a specially designed program catered to children aged 4 to 6 years old. Our aim is to lay a solid foundation in Wing Chun Martial Arts, while also nurturing important life skills and leadership values.
Unlike traditional martial arts classes, our curriculum goes beyond simply teaching children how to kick and punch. We believe in educating through martial arts, focusing on character development and personal growth. By instilling great values in their behaviour, we strive to help children become well-rounded individuals.
The Little Dragon Classes program is divided into two phases. Phase 1 serves as a stepping stone, where children establish their martial arts foundation and gain a basic understanding of self-defence. In addition, they learn significant skills such as welcoming others, preparing for class, acting respectfully, and actively participating in the curriculum. Our engaging and energetic activities also teach them basic hand and leg movements, making every class a blend of fun and learning.
Moving on to phase 2, the focus shifts towards grades and the incorporation of beginner material from the adult Wing Chun System. Children dive deeper into their Wing Chun journey, learning about distance awareness, physical contact, and how to apply the skills they have developed. Throughout this phase, we continue to emphasise life skills, ensuring that our young practitioners are equipped with the tools they need to thrive in various aspects of their lives, be it at home, school, or in their future as young adults.
