Paul from Croydon Disc Golf Club wanted to share some exciting news with the sports community. They've got Lloyd Park Disc Golf Course up and running in Croydon, South London. It's great for everyone, whether you’re a pro or just starting out.
The main course at Lloyd Park boasts 18 holes with permanent baskets and fixed tee mats. For newbies, there’s also a 9-hole course just perfect for getting the hang of it. And if you don’t have your own discs, you can hire some from The Coach House Cafe.
It’s really easy to find and get to the course. Head over to Lloyd Park in South London, with detailed directions on their website. The club also runs beginner sessions, perfect if you’re looking to learn the ropes or improve your skills. And if you fancy organising a group event, drop them a message on Facebook.
Throughout the year, the club hosts several events where you can compete and meet fellow disc golf enthusiasts. You don’t need to be a club member to join the regular club rounds, which kick off at the basket of hole 18, right by the tee of hole 1. If you’d rather play on your own timing, they’re pretty responsive on Facebook and Twitter.
Lloyd Park is part of the British Disc Golf Events network, so you get a chance to participate in events across the country. The main 18-hole course is a beauty, set amidst the natural charm of the park and is used for club competitions and the Summer League. There’s also a shorter 9-hole course for beginners or those after a quick round.
Finding the first tee is straightforward. It’s across the field from The Coach House Cafe along the tram line. Even easier if you use the course map or an iPhone app.
To get there, take the tram to “Lloyd Park” from East Croydon mainline station. It’s a well-connected spot with trains from London, Gatwick, and Brighton. If you’re coming from London Victoria or Clapham Junction, grab a train to East Croydon and then onto tram number 3 towards “New Addington”.
Paul and everyone at Croydon Disc Golf Club invite you to come experience the fun at Lloyd Park. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned player, there’s something for everyone. Swing by for a round and become part of the community.
