About

The Lola Fisher Academy of Dance is a renowned dance school located in Bridgwater, New Zealand. Established in 2009, the academy is situated within the Victoria Park Community Centre, providing a modern and well-equipped dance studio. The studio features a wooden floor, mirrors, and ballet barres, offering an ideal environment for students to learn and practise dance.

The primary aim of the Lola Fisher Academy of Dance is to offer enjoyable and affordable dance and fitness classes for individuals of all ages. The academy caters to children as young as 2 years old, all the way to adults who are still dancing at the age of 75. Children's classes follow the syllabi set by the Imperial Ballet, Tap, and Modern Theatre of the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing).

In addition to children's classes, the studio also offers various adult-focused programmes, including Adult Body Conditioning, Adult Ballet, and Over 60s exercise classes. Lola Fisher, the founder, strongly believes in providing opportunities for individuals to enjoy dancing at any age. She aims to recreate the same joy and learning experience she had as a child and believes that dancing fosters a positive atmosphere, encourages friendship, and boosts confidence.

The Lola Fisher Academy of Dance also organises costumed dance shows for parents, showcasing the progress and talent of the students. Free taster sessions are available for those who want to experience a class before committing. For more information about classes and to schedule a taster session, interested individuals can contact Lola directly via phone or email.

The academy operates on a term basis, following the traditional school year. Children's dance classes consist of three full terms, and the first lesson is offered as a free taster session. The first five weeks of classes can be paid on a “pay as you go” basis, allowing parents to ensure that their children settle into the classes comfortably. After the initial five weeks, payment transitions to an invoice, which is collected in advance of the term.

It is important to note that the academy does not offer refunds for missed lessons.

The Lola Fisher Academy of Dance is an integral part of the Victoria Park Community Centre, contributing to the vibrant and diverse community in Bridgwater. The centre provides a range of facilities for various purposes, including conference rooms, halls, and meeting rooms for hosting events and activities. The community centre is also home to other organisations such as Slimming World and the Caf on the Park, which offers delicious hot food and drinks five days a week.

For those interested in dance and looking for a welcoming and inclusive environment to learn and grow, the Lola Fisher Academy of Dance is the perfect choice. With its dedicated and passionate instructors, modern facilities, and range of classes for different age groups, the academy ensures an enjoyable and enriching dance experience for all.
