Lydden Hill Race Circuit is thrilled to announce the upcoming Sideways Sessions, a series of special events that will take place at our circuit on selected dates. These sessions are a true delight for all auto racing enthusiasts who are passionate about showcasing their sideways driving skills.
The Sideways Sessions typically run from 3pm to 6pm, ensuring that participants can fully utilise the last three hours of daylight. During these sessions, we hold the start line for 5 minutes every 15 minutes, allowing participants to rotate and take turns. This ensures that everyone gets equal opportunities to demonstrate their skills on our circuit.
Safety is always our top priority at Lydden Hill, which is why we strictly enforce certain rules during the Sideways Sessions. To maintain a safe environment, only a maximum of four cars are allowed on the circuit at any given time. Furthermore, all cars must adhere to our noise limit standards of 100db static and 92db drive-by. In case the track conditions require it, we will water the circuit to ensure optimal driving conditions. Our dedicated team also closely monitors driving standards to minimise any incidents or time losses. As an additional safety measure, we conduct basic scrutineering for all participating vehicles.
Participating in our Sideways Sessions costs £100, which grants you three hours of thrilling sideways driving. But that's not all! We also invite you to enjoy passenger rides in each other's cars at no extra cost, adding an exciting element to the event. Please note that these sessions are exclusively open to LHMC (Lydden Hill Motor Club) members. Becoming a LHMC member is easy and comes with numerous benefits. You can purchase membership for £10 per event or £30 per year until the end of December. Membership benefits include the chance to provide input into the format of exclusive events, discounts on event tickets, participation in the Lydden Loyalty scheme, and much more.
To book your spot in one of our Sideways Sessions, simply visit the 'Events' page on our website. Spectating at the sessions is absolutely free, and no tickets are required. As for our LHDC (Lydden Hill Driving Club) members, the afternoon sessions follow an open pit lane format, ensuring that you can make the most out of your seat time. We accommodate a maximum of 20 drivers per event, with twinning allowed.
