Madeley Cricket Club

Madeley Cricket Club, established in 1855, stands as one of the oldest cricket clubs in Shropshire with a rich legacy and ECB Clubmark accreditation. Under the guidance of its dedicated organiser, Ben Thompson, the club continuously strives to enhance its online presence for the benefit of members and supporters.

Ben Thompson oversees the club's participation in the MSG Shropshire County Cricket League, fielding four Senior sides competing at various levels, including the leading Division, Division Four, Sunday Division One, and Sunday Division Three. The Youth Section, catering to U13 and U15 teams, competes in the Shropshire Junior Cricket League. Ben also champions the ECB Allstars & Dynamos initiative to engage children aged 5 to 11.

Beyond cricket, Madeley Cricket Club, under Ben's leadership, supports a successful Women’s team in The Shropshire Women’s and Girls League, now in its seventh season, and is organising a Ladies Netball Team. Several green bowls teams are also managed to cater to a wider sporting community.

Social activities play a significant role at the club, with Ben ensuring a year-round calendar of events from quizzes to discos, live music, and race nights. The clubhouse is available for private functions, exclusively bookable by club members.
