Mahurangi East Bowling Club

Established in 1985, the Mahurangi East Bowling Club has become an integral part of the Snells Beach community in New Zealand. Located in the serene beachside town just outside Warkworth, our club offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for both locals and visitors.

Our membership is diverse, encompassing individuals of all ages and genders. We take pride in fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendship among our members. With two artificial carpet greens, including a newly installed one in April 2019, we ensure that our members can enjoy bowling activities year-round.

In a unique partnership, the Kawau Bay Fishing Club has joined forces with us, using our club as their headquarters. Each Thursday evening, they organise popular fundraising raffles, accompanied by our weekly club members draw. On the last Thursday of every month, we even provide a complimentary sausage and chip meal.

If you're interested in taking up a new sporting activity, look no further than bowls. We cater to bowlers of all levels, whether you're a competitive player seeking competitions and the chance to compete against other clubs in the North Harbour region, or a social bowler looking for a fun and convivial atmosphere. Our friendly club, located near Snells Beach, is the perfect place to enjoy the sport.

Throughout the year, we host regular tournaments on Tuesdays, offering opportunities for both club and open competitions. We also have interclub teams, allowing members to represent the club in various events. For those who want to improve their skills, we offer free coaching to our members.

In addition to bowls, we also offer petanque, another popular sport. Our petanque members gather every Sunday afternoon for a sociable couple of hours of gameplay on the terrains behind our clubrooms.

Beyond the sporting activities, we pride ourselves on hosting various social events throughout the year. Our bar is open every day, except for Mondays and Wednesdays, from 4 pm onwards. We aim to create a vibrant and inclusive community where everyone can feel welcome.

For a complete calendar of club fixtures and activities, please visit our website. Roll-ups are held on Friday afternoons, starting at 12:30 pm, and on Sunday afternoons, beginning at 2 pm. Check-in times may vary, so please arrive early to ensure team selection.
