About

Located in Majura, Canberra, Majura Pines Recreation Area is a cycling park renowned for its extensive network of trails suitable for riders of all abilities. With over 25 km of mapped and signposted trails, as well as a pump track and dirt jump park, Majura Pines offers an unparalleled outdoor experience for cycling enthusiasts.

For those in search of flow trails, Majura boasts popular options such as Barry, Planet Claire, and Rock Lobster at the south end of the forest. Additionally, Pinot Grinio and Bombora can be found on “winery hill” at the north. These trails, along with many others, can be easily explored by following the signposted Blue Loop.

However, what truly sets Majura Pines apart is its collection of old-school, more challenging trails. Auto Alley and Space Elevator provide thrilling XC technical sections, while re-born downhill lines like Touching Cloth, Rocksanne, and Dirty Distancing offer adrenaline-fueled enduro experiences. Visit the Technical XC or Gravity/Enduro trails pages for more information on these exciting options.

Majura Pines caters to riders of all skill levels, making it an ideal destination for beginners and advanced cyclists alike. The Beginner Area, situated on Majura Road, offers a welcoming space where newcomers can warm up on easy trails or try their hand at the pump track. From there, riders can progress to the main network and tackle the Green or Blue signed loops.

Conveniently located just a few kilometres from Canberra's city centre, Majura Pines is easily accessible via the Majura Parkway and Federal Highway. The main car park at the beginner area provides essential amenities such as toilets, drinking water, and picnic areas. Additionally, it houses the pump track and dirt jumps, adding some excitement to the overall experience. There is a second parking area near Mount Majura Vineyard, located at the north of the forest on Lime Kiln Road.

For those approaching from the city, a small car park on Mackenzie Street in Hackett or nearby Hackett shops provide alternative parking options.

At Majura Pines, the trails are built and maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers, ensuring a high standard and a sense of community spirit. To get involved, interested individuals can participate in trail building sessions or contribute by donating funds used to purchase tools and materials.

Stay up to date with the latest news and trail days at Majura Pines by signing up for their newsletter. The park also acknowledges the support of its sponsors, including MTB Direct, Absolute Approvals, Trail Blazer Backers, Evolve Capabilities, Capital Kamikaze, Maitland Street Roasters, Capital Brewing Co, Three Mills Bakery, Lark Hill Winery, United Fasteners, Iconic Trails, Dirt Surfer, and Frameskin.
