Ben, one of the coaches, brings over 14 years of coaching experience in various team sports, specialising in players aged 4-16. He holds a BSc. Honours Degree and an MSc.
Honours Degree in Sports Coaching, along with several sports coaching qualifications, including a Level 2 qualification in hockey coaching. In his hockey coaching sessions, Ben focuses on nurturing the love of the game, prioritising fun, skill development, and decision-making, while instilling values of perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Helen, another coach at the academy, boasts seven years of experience in coaching hockey, primarily with junior players. Having played hockey since the age of five and achieved regional performance centre selection, along with playing high-level university hockey, Helen has a wealth of practical knowledge to offer. She has worked with both secondary school and primary school players, and her coaching approach is centred around the individual development of each player. Witnessing the progress and improvements of her players is what drives Helen's passion for coaching.
